Janis Wooldridge

She was born in Kansas City, MO to Austin and Bethel Shuey. Janis grew up in Raytown Missouri and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1977.

On July 23rd, 1994 Janis married the Love of Her Life, David Kelly Wooldridge. Janis enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, camping, traveling to Silver Dollar City and gambling at the casinos.

Family and friends were important to Janis, especially spending time traveling to Oklahoma City to visit her twin sister Joyce Deese and nieces Bethany and Brittany. She felt that these nieces were not only her sister’s children, but also hers.

Janis retired in 2024 from Mid America Laminating Co., Inc located in Raytown Missouri. During her time there close friendships were made.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents, Austin E Shuey and Bethel C Shuey, her sister Barbara K Faris and sister in law’s, Marilyn Shuey and Dixie Stephens.

She is survived by her Husband David K Wooldridge, Sister Joyce Deese (Pete) and two Brothers, Gary Shuey and Larry Shuey (Lorri); Nieces and Nephews: Cindy Scott, Bethany (James), Brittany (Ben), Brian (Susie), Michael (Amy), Kara (Duwayne), Matt (Chris), Cory (Sara) Jonathan (Kate), Scott (Kristine), Amy (Kevin), Kris (Kayla). She also leaves a multitude of great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 2nd, 2025 from 9:00-10:00 AM with services at 10:00 to 11:00 AM and burial to follow, all at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
