Jay E. Cornell, 82, of Odessa, MO passed peacefully, on September 12, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday September 16 at Floral Hills from 6-8pm. Services will be Wednesday September 17 at 10am with burial to follow. Jay moved to Kansas City when he was 5 and graduated from Center High School and UCM. He met the love of his life, Sandra Lou Reynolds, while at UCM. They were married for 38 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; parents, Ira and Emma Cornell; and his 3 brothers, Finley, Kimbert, and Pierce. He is survived by his son, Jeffery (Tammy) Cornell; daughter, Cheryl Quimiro; granddaughters, Erin, Megan, Christina, and Cassandra; grandson, Jayce; and great granddaughter, Alexandrya; brother, Albert; and sisters, Margaret and Evelyn. He was a loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
