She attended St. Francis Xavier grade school, Bishop Hogan High School and St. Teresa of Avila College. She married Thomas V. Carroll on June 21, 1952, and she devoted her entire life to her eight children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She always looked forward to family gatherings and attending all kids activities. She was full of laughter, and everyone loved her quick wit and sense of humor. She loved her Catholic faith, Irish Heritage, family and friends, all who helped her navigate her journey in life. She was an avid Chiefs fan and was proud of the opportunity to attend the first Chiefs Super Bowl win in New Orleans and after patiently waiting, witnessed a second Super Bowl win by her beloved KC Chiefs.
She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. We will be forever grateful for the exceptional care and compassion she received from the staff at St. Anthony’s Senior Living facility. During this difficult time, the family appreciated the compassion and the comforting care that was provided by Catholic Community Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, her parents, and her brother Bill Powers.
She is survived by her children Jann (Carl) Faltermeier, Pat (Mary) Carroll, Jerry (Linda) Carroll, Teri (Dave) Degitz, Diane (Mick) Mannion, Tom (Tammy) Carroll, Kelly (Jerry) Maloney and Chris (Jeff) Bruce, a sister Helen Merrigan, 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one on the way as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
