

Jeanette Marie DeHerrera passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on Monday, July 8, 2024. She is survived by four children; Thomas Clifford Swartz, Jr. and wife Sharon, Douglas Edward Swartz and spouse Marcus, Kimberly Elaine Garvin nee Swartz and husband Gary, and Carl Eugene De Herrera (Gino) and wife Kristy. Jeanette is also survived by two sisters, Mary Katherine Rose and Joyce Morgan. She had seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her first marriage was to Thomas Clifford Swartz, Sr. and her second marriage was to Gilbert N. DeHerrera, both of whom are deceased.
Jeanette was born in Kansas City, Missouri as Jeanette Allison to ‘Bus’ and Betty Allison. She earned a degree from the University of Northern Colorado in secondary education as a Home Economics teacher. She then earned her real estate license had a 17-year career as a real estate agent in Greeley, Colorado. She returned to Kansas City in 1992. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook, talented seamstress, and avid and competitive player at Scrabble, Dominos, and any number of card and boardgames. She was enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs fan, and if you wanted to know anything about Kansas Jayhawks basketball all you had to do was ask.
Services will be held at McGilley Antioch Chapel on Wednesday, July 17. Visitation starts at 5:00 pm and the service begins at 6:00 pm. Flowers may be delivered there, and cards may be mailed to Tom Swartz at 5505 N. Wayne, Kansas City, Missouri, 64118.
