

Jeraldine Constance “Connie” Burr, 88, of Shawnee, KS, passed away June 5, 2011 at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5901 E. 135th St., Grandview, MO. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Connie was born February 14, 1923 in Gibbs, Adair County, MO, daughter of Oran John and Ethel Clara (Davis) Anthony. She was married to Kenneth Walter (Casey) Casebier, Sr. for 15 years. In 1960 she married Emil Otto Burr. She had worked a variety of vocations among which were an Avon Rep., Sunflower Library, Associated Photographers, and Calvin’s Motion Pictures where she took in News Reels from all of Kansas City news crews. She owned Sunbeam Spares and was a buyer for Long Motors before retiring. She was a member of WOMPIES (Women of Motion Picture Industries). She also wrote poetry for the Springfield Newspaper in the early 40’s, and also songs but would not let anyone record them. She loved family, friends, traveling, cooking, and holidays. She loved to make snow angels and snowmen. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Grandview. Our mother was just like her mother, a very gentle and loving person. Connie is survived by her children, Kala Kay Handley (Gary) of Belton, MO, Karen Gaye Whedon of Lawson, MO, Kathleen Gail Seigfreid of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kenneth Walter “Wally” Casebier (Nettie) of Oak Grove, MO, Karla Marlene Fulps (Steve) of Shawnee, KS and Kandice Joy Long of St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters Clara B. (Dick) Pulse and Betty L. Shannon, both of Canton, MO; sister-in-law Dena Anthony of Independence, MO; many nieces and nephews. She really loved her extended family at Delmar Gardens.
