Jerry Watson

Jerry Watson, 60 of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 10:00 a.m., at Curé of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 20th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Curé of Ars Church.

Jerry was born August 27, 1953 in Lincoln, NE. He married Renée Atchity on January 2, 1991. He was a loving husband, proud father and loyal friend. He worked in the banking industry his entire career, most recently with Fiserv. Jerry graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Business Administration and received his MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was a licensed CPA. One of Jerry’s proudest accomplishments as a scholarship track athlete at Mizzou was his personal best time of 4:06 in the mile run.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James Jerome and Anna Marie Watson. He is survived by his wife, Renée Watson and four children, James Watson, Beth Bridgham (Tim), Annie Giangrosso and Madeline Giangrosso; siblings Judy Woodbury (Jim), Kay Prevost (Jim), Mary Lou Holmes (Tom), Jim Watson (Connie); 13 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ng, staff at the Kansas City Cancer Center, physicians and healthcare providers at Shawnee Mission Medical Center for their remarkable and compassionate care.
