Jesse M. Smith, 89, Kansas City, passed away Sept. 28, 2017 with family at his side. Services are Monday, Oct. 2 at First United Methodist Church of North Kansas City, 2100 Howell Street, North Kansas City. Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00, Funeral at 11:00, followed by burial at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, MO
Jesse was born Apr. 22, 1928 in Huntington, WV. He married Virginia Long and the two made their home in Kansas City. He loved wood working and was Plant Manager at Tnemec.
Preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; daughter Debbie (Dan) Sevier, two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charlotte Thomas; and numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First United Methodist Church Endowment.
