Jo Ann Buie, 84, Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 13, 2017. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, at Terrace Lake United Methodist Church, 4500 East Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137. By family request, funeral guests 18 years or older please. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Terrace Lake UMC or Village Hospice, Lee’s Summit, MO.
Jody was born February 17, 1932 in Kansas City, KS, daughter of Kenneth and Mary Alice (Stipp) Woods. She was a lifelong and devoted homemaker. She was an active church supporter, loved gardening, swimming, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Woods, and her husband Dr. Bruce R. Buie. Mrs. Buie is survived by her four children David Buie JD, Cheri Buie MA Ed, Steven Buie MD and Timothy Buie MD, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
