Joe G. Padilla, 94, passed away January 23, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Committal services will be at 2:30 PM in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to the U.S. Marine Corps League Toys for Tots program.
Joe was born in Independence, Kansas and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a Marine Corps veteran during the Korean War. After his service, Joe became a boilermaker and electrical worker and worked for many years in those trades until his retirement. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish and the Marine Corps League where he was a top toy collector. Joe was an avid boxing fan who loved working in his yard, helping others and was always early for everything!
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Rose; two sisters, Augustina and Andrea; three brothers, Socorro, Esteban and Patricio.
Survivors include two sons, Mark A. Padilla and his wife, Angela Lucena, and Mark Batesel; and a brother, Carlos.
