John Harmon, 96, died Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 of natural causes. John was born September 22, 1915, in Kansas City, Kansas, son of Michael and Mildred Yovetich. He was married for 53 years to Nora Parsons who preceded him in death. John and Nora traveled the world extensively. John served in the Army during WWII. John was in the retailing business for many years with Copelands. He was an active member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. He is survived by nieces Sharon Sullivan (Keith) of Blue Springs, Carol Terry (Ed) of Northfield, Minnesota and nephew Dean McWilliams (Carol) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, sister-in-law Nadine Towns (Bill) of Cole Camp, Missouri and brother-in-law Jack Parsons (Luvena) of Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be Sunday, February 5th at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, with prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 11001 Greenwood Street, Lenexa, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6th.
