John Anthony Jones Sr.

Memorial services will be held at the Lenexa Kingdom Hall at 14285 Midland Dr., Shawnee, KS 66216 at 3 pm. There will be no burial as he requested to be cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to his widow Barbara Jones.

Mr. John Anthony Jones Sr. was born September 5, 1958, to parents John Jones and Lucy Scott. He graduated high school and enlisted in the Marine Reserves where he served as a Field Radio Operator, before being Honorably Discharged. He also attended the Electronics Institute of Kansas City, Missouri where he earned a degree in Digital Electronics. John went on to work in the IT field for thirty-plus years before retiring. During this time he met and eventually married Donna Moore (deceased) and was blessed with two children, Adrian Moore and John Anthony Jones Jr. (Tony). They later divorced and John later married his current wife Barbara Clinkscale and they welcomed five children between them in the relationship. Greg Jones, LaTonya Jones-Colbert, Karen Jones, Nick Jones, and Jesse Jones. John later dedicated his life to Jehovah, becoming a Jehovah’s Witness in 1995 and serving faithfully until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Jones, his mother, Lucy Scott-Jones, his brother, Marcus (Mark) Jones, his sister, Mary (Kay) Jones, and his grandson, Darnell Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jones, his brother Otis (Roy) Jones, sisters Linda Jones and Veronica (Tammy) Jones; sons Thyrion Moore, Adrian Moore, John Anthony Jones Jr. (Tony) and girlfriend Katrina Phillips, Greg Jones and wife Keeley Richards-Jones, Nickolas Jones, and Jesse Jones. His daughters LaTonya Jones-Colbert and husband Leo Colbert, and Karen Jones. His grandchildren Tre’veon Floyd John Jones, Tiarah Desire Bouser, Taliyah Jannelle Jones, Danielle Nicole Moore, Adonja James Moore, Keiki DeShay Collins, Albert DeShawn Conway, Arielle Shavonne Nicole Massey, Xavier De’Vaun DeMetree Jones, Christian Amarr Dale, Jason Alexander Scott, and Joshua DeVonte Scott. His great-grandchildren Kay’liana Marie Jones, Kailani Rose Jones Oquendo, Kataleya Noemi Oquendo, and Kiana Renee Oquendo. Plus a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
