Jack was born on March 31st, 1942 to James Alva and Nora (Donohue) Rice. He attended St. Elizabeth’s and Visitation Grade School, Rockhurst High School and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Education. He married Karen Kissick on March 18, 1972. He is survived by his wife of 38 years and daughter, Connie Venable, son-in-law, Josh and granddaughter, Chase Venable. His two brothers, James Rice and his wife, Susan of Lake Tahoe, CA and Rev. Michael D. Rice of the Lake of the Ozarks and Florida. There are many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews that Jack loved and they all made our lives so joyful. He also had a wonderful circle of friends and he was blessed to have these cherished friendships. He comes from a large family and they were an important part of his life – the Irish O’Donohues. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Services are at the Chapel at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Vitas Hospice Care, 4041 South Lynn Ct.
