Joseph E Mcnamara

Joseph E. McNamara, 82, passed away October 23, 2010. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2700 E. Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Olathe, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to NE Omaha Home for Boys, 4343 North 52nd St. Omaha, NE 68104.

Joseph was born August 16, 1928 in O’Neill, NE to Joseph W. and Laura McNamara. He was married to Doris J. Pate for 57 years before her passing in 2007. Joseph served in the Air Force for 3 years before starting his 39 year long career with Yellow Freight International. He was a devout Catholic, loving and dedicated husband and father. Joseph enjoyed golf and bowling, but he prided himself most on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Doris, brothers Joseph Hubert and Alfred John; sister Celestine Ann. He is survived by children, Suzanne (Ted) Nieman, Maureen (Tony) Brenton, Ed (Kathy) McNamara, James (Patty Tanner) McNamara; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Marcella Quinn, Joan Mikolajczak; brothers, Bernard, Thomas, Patrick, and Robert McNamara.
