Joyce M. Kellerman

Joyce Mae (McLaury) Kellerman, 84, of Westwood, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 14th, 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS, 66205, with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13th at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO, 64145, or to St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Joyce was born February 22, 1928 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Bishop Lillis high School. She met her future husband, Hank while working at UpJohn. They married in 1949 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. Joyce worked for 30 years primarily as a school nurse at St. Agnes School in Roeland Park. She relished her role as a caregiver to her family and was an active member of her parish. Joyce was a beloved Grandma to her 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Kellerman; parents, James and Cecilia McLaury; sister, Connie Schleicher; brothers, James, Robert and John McLaury. She is survived by her children, Carol (Larry) Munjak, Paul (Barb) Kellerman, Daniel (Jan) Kellerman, Patrick (Susan) Kellerman; brother, Tom (Donna) McLaury; grandchildren, Katherine, Laura and Megan; Sara, Peter, Teresa, Marybeth, Hank, Joe, Doug and Catherine; Dan, Chrissy and Jessie; Nicholas and Benjamin; great-grandson, Shawn; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
