Judith Elida (Christian) McBride

While growing up, Judy would move with her parents to briefly reside in Los Angeles, California, and Bremerton, Washington, before returning home to Independence. She was a 1954 graduate of William Chrisman High School. She married William E. McBride on September 24, 1954, and raised their four children, Mary Beth, William Jr, Doug, and Melissa within the Kansas City area, sharing 61 years of marriage together. Over the years, Judy worked on and off in retail, primarily working as a retail associate and trainer for The Jones Store at the Blue Ridge Mall. She enjoyed art and music and loved several pets throughout her life. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed. Judy passed away peacefully at the age of 89, on January 3, 2026, at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, William (2015), sister Len (2017), brother Kim (2005), and son Billy (2018).

She is survived by daughter, Mary Beth Caponetto (Tom), son, Doug McBride, daughter, Melissa Oakman, granddaughter Angela Massman (Glen), grandson Jeff Dulaney, grandson Steven McBride, and granddaughter Sophia Thompson, as well as her great grandchildren.

An inurnment service will be held at Mt Washington Cemetery on Saturday, January 31st 2026 at 11:00am. The address is 614 S Brookside Ave, Independence, MO 64053. Please enter through the Truman Road gate.
