Karen Hoover

Karen Ann (Linton) Hoover, 54, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, with the burial to follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the chapel. Karen was born on September 16, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Francis C. and Shirley (Dyke) Linton. She was a very active 30-year member of the Laureate Epsilon Nu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi where she achieved many honors. Karen worked as an administrative assistant for over 30 years. Her family was the most important part of her life. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Francis Linton. A very special wife, mother, daughter, sister and nana, she leaves behind her mother, Shirley Linton of Independence; husband, Sam Hoover of Lee’s Summit; daughter, Sarah McNally and husband Patrick of Jacksonville, Illinois; granddaughter, Addisen McNally; sister Jana Powell and husband Rick of Overland Park; niece, Haley Powell; and uncle Jerry Dyke and wife Pat. She leaves behind many cousins and special friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Kansas City Hospice House.
