Kathryn "Penny" Cetnar

Kathryn “Penny” Ruth Cetnar, 77, Lenexa, KS passed away Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at the McGilley State Line chapel. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Chapel; burial in Resurrection cemetery, Lenexa, KS.

Penny was born August 9, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA and grew up in Chicago, IL where she loved to play golf at Flossmoor Country Club. She met the love of her life, Ted Cetnar, in college. They married in 1959 and raised two children. They moved to Kansas City in 1972. She enjoyed working with special needs children at the Speer Farm, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family. Penny will be remembered for her joyful outlook on life and will miss her many friends at Harrah’s Casino.

Penny is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Cetnar, and her parents, Andrew and Anna Mae Johnson. She is survived by her children, Mark Cetnar of Lenexa, KS, Patty (Ken) Heinz of Leawood, KS; her grandchildren, Brett (Hannah), Calvin, and Derek Heinz; and her great-grandchildren, Grayson and Hadley Heinz.
