

Kenneth Hill passed away Saturday morning, August 27, 2011. He was born in Kansas City, MO, in 1914, and was the son of James and Madge (Dunaway) Hill. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30th, from 6-8 p.m., at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, at 11924 E. 47th St., KCMO 64133. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., August 31st. Kenneth graduated from Westport High School and spent most of his life in Kansas City, but also lived a short time in Houston, TX, and Tulsa, OK. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Yeoman, 1st class. He worked at a number of places including 25 years at Sinclair and British Petroleum. He finished his working years at Farmland Industries in North KC. After retiring, he volunteered for 15 years at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He also served as a deacon at the Raytown Christian Church. Kenneth and Susie Gwartney were married in 1938. They recently celebrated their 73rd anniversary at their home. Kenneth was a most faithful husband and father. Together, Kenneth and Susie raised five wonderful daughters. Survivors include his wife, Susie Hill, 5 daughters: Marilyn Anson (Lyle), Kerry Penney (Bill), Judy Procell (Andy), Linda Jones (Mike), Michelle LeDoux (David); 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
