

Born in Piedmont Missouri on April 29th, 1932, Kenneth Clarence Mann (born Clarence Kenneth Mann), was the 5th of 7 children born to Alice and Clarence Mann. Kenneth worked the family farm with his other siblings as well as a stint working at the Brown Shoe factory as a teenager. He eventually came to the Kansas City area to find other employment in the construction trades in 1947 while living with his older sister Delores and her husband Bill Warren.
Eventually, reaching military draft age, he joined the Navy on April 30, 1951, and attended boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois. He was on the U.S.S. Corregidor (TCVE-58). Initially a BMSN (boatswains mate seamen) he took the GMG-3 (gunners mate 3rd class) test and passed. The ship was stationed out of Red Hook, (Brooklyn) New York. During his enlistment the ship made cruises to the Mediterranean Sea with visits to Italy, France, Yugoslavia, and as well as other European ports of call. They also deployed to the coast of South Korea for the delivery of planes and troops for the then ongoing Korean War. After his Honorable discharge on March 1, 1955, he returned to construction work in various trades.
After his discharge, he met the love of his life on a blind date and they were married in Independence, Missouri on August 24, 1958. This marriage produced 3 sons; Dana Patrick (Pat), Michael Kenneth (Mike), and Jeffery Alan (Jeff). Kenneth would start his own construction business in 1969. He retired to Truman Lake with his wife in 2003 and enjoyed fishing and hunting and visiting with friends, neighbors and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 4 older siblings and his wife (Donna) of 63 years who was a homemaker (2021). Kenneth passed away on August 4, 2025 in Pleasant Hill, Mo.
He is survived by his twin brother and sister- E.R. (Ray) Mann of Independence, Mo. and Faye Campbell of Halfway, Mo. 3 sons- Dana Patrick Mann and his wife Beth of Pleasant Hill, Mo, Michael Kenneth Mann of Liberty, Mo. And Jeffery Alan Mann of Grain Valley, Mo., 3 grandchildren- Dana Lynn Elder and her husband Jason of Kansas City, Mo., Garrett Michael Mann of Liberty, Mo. And Jillian Renee Crawford and her husband Cody of Harrisonville, Mo. 4 Great grandchildren- Nathan Michael Elder, Lillian Marie Elder, Connor Allen Crawford, Willow Mae Crawford.
The family wishes to express great gratitude to the staff of the VA Home Care especially (Sadie RN and Brynn White FNP) and Ascend Hospice for the loving care given to our loved one during his final days.
A visitation will be held on August 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133, US.
The funeral service will follow on the same day from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the same location.
A graveside service will take place afterward, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, also at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery.
