

In 1966, Larry graduated from Grandview High School and immediately after graduation he started at Hallmark Cards where he met his wife of 55 years, Judy Singer. They married October 4th, 1969 in Clinton, Missouri and settled in Independence, Missouri where they raised two children.
The family moved to Liberty Missouri in 1985 to be closer to the Hallmark Distribution Center. Where he continued to work until he retired in 2000, after working 34 years at Hallmark Cards.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Deana Lewis (John); son, Brian (Tiffany); five grandchildren: Trenton, Mason, and Rhiannon Lewis and Zander and Sterling Hixson; two step grandchildren, Garrett and Rylee Thompson; two sisters, Kenla Engel and Melody Baker; and a brother, Howard Hixson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Carol Hixson; and one sister, Letha who died in infancy.
Larry was a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs.
He enjoyed creating unforgettable memories while traveling in retirement and had a deep love for dogs; his own dogs Mopsy and Sadie were very dear to him. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be missed by all who held him dear.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, with service at 2 PM, and burial to follow, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO.
