Laurencio Bustamante Sr.

Laurencio Bustamante, Sr., 74 of Kansas City, Missouri died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be on Monday, September 8th from 5-7 p.m. at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.

Laurencio was born on July 25, 1940 in Salamanca, GTO, Mexico to Jose and Salome’ (Rodriguez) Bustamante, who preceded him in death. The only member of his family to come to the United States, Laurencio owned his own semi and worked as a contract over-the-road driver for Dart Transportation before his retirement. Laurencio is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia Carmen Raya Bustamante of the home; daughter, Laura J. Bustamante; two sons, Joseph L. Bustamante and Laurencio Bustamante, Jr.; two granddaughters, Brienna L. Bustamante and Sarah M. Bustamante, all of Kansas City; two sisters, Maria de la Luz Bustamante Rodriguez and Laura Velaquez; and three brothers, Jorge Bustamante, Luis Bustamante and Jose Bustamante, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews, all of Salamanca, GTO, Mexico.
