Lawrence Patrick Meyers

Lawrence P. Meyers, 63, of Overland Park, KS passed away on June 1, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Thursday June 5, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 6415 Holmes Rd Kansas City, MO; burial in Mt. Moriah South Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4th, 5-7 pm at McGilley State Line Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm. Larry was born on October 13, 1950 in KCMO to Lawrence and Catherine Meyers.

Larry's career was in healthcare administration however his true passion was as a teacher. He was an adjunct professor at many area universities for over 28 years.

The time he spent fishing with his father, family members and many friends gave him enormous pleasure.

Preceding Larry in death were his father and two infant children. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Susan, his two daughters Maria Meyers and Angela (David) Convery, his stepsons Nick Atchity, Joe (Allyson) Atchity, Tony (Michelle) Atchity, Nate Atchity, and Pat Atchity (Lindsey Hartke).

Papa Lars will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Jackson, Will, Emily, Anna, Addy, and Evie.

Larry leaves behind his mother, Catherine Meyers, and his siblings, Sherry (Steve) Hughes, Chris (Mike) Thompson, and Tim (Claudia) Meyers as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family greatly appreciates the care and compassion of the doctors and staff at the Westwood Cancer Center and the Bone Marrow transplant unit at KU Hospital.
