LayLa Lorraine Jorgensen, 83, of Kansas City, MO (formerly from Sacramento, CA) passed away on February 12, 2015. LayLa was an aviation enthusiast who earned her pilots license in 1976. In recent years she enjoyed getting rides in her son-in-law’s small plane and attending the Salute to Veterans air show on Memorial weekend in Columbia, MO.
LayLa loved to travel – especially with her daughters. She lived in Germany and visited Paris, Holland, England, China, Norway, Russia, Spain, and many others.
She is survived by her five children Caye Hursey, Connie Bailey (Jerry), Mike Hursey (Debbie), Brenda Pierce (Mark), Melanie Mitchell, and four grandchildren Wayne, Joann, Jennifer, John, and two great grandchildren Ryder and Makenna and brother Walter Willis (Joan).
LayLa is preceded in death by her husbands Ernest Hursey, Ray Jorgensen, and her dear friend and partner Joe Ayres and her twin brother Richard Willis (Shirley).
