

Leonard Wesley “Wes” Harden, 88, formerly of Kansas City, MO passed away suddenly on July 15, 2012 in Monmouth, OR. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Saturday, July 21 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 3106 Flora Ave., Kansas City, MO with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery in Kansas City North. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at the chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 7pm.
Wes was born on August 10, 1923 in Boone, IA. He grew up in Boone and studied for two years at Drake University until joining the service. He was a Navy pilot in World War II, serving in the Pacific theater. After the war, he worked for Greb X-Ray in Lenexa, KS for over 50 years and retired as executive vice-president. He was a devoted husband, loving father, a quiet leader and a devout Catholic. Wes had a life long impact on all those who knew him and he was proud of his Scottish heritage. We miss him.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marian Harden; a daughter, Mary Anne Harden of Monmouth, OR; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Monica Harden of Monument, CO; grandchildren David Harden of Springfield, MO, John Harden of West Chester, PA, Daniel Harden of Kansas City, MO, Paul Harden of Columbia, MO, Cecilia and Dominic Harden of Monument CO; and ten great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by a son, Leonard Wesley, and a grandson, Grant Hawkins.
