Linda Ellen Downey

Linda worked at City Hall of St. Joseph, Missouri for 11 years and IRS of Kansas City, Missouri for 21 years before retiring. She believed in God and loved country music.

Linda was preceded in death by parents Bill and Genevieve Ellis of Oregon, Missouri and St. Joseph, Missouri; by nephews Bill and Jeff Pastorious of Lenexa, Kansas and by her sister Celia Sue Pastorious of Lenexa, Kansas.

Linda is survived by husband Charles "Chuck" Downey of Branson, Missouri, sister Georgia Claudene Dilley of Garnett, Kansas, niece Tonya Dilley, Garnett, Kansas, Candy Dilley of Humboldt, Kansas, Randy Dilley, Wheaton, New Jersey, Melody Cutting of Lenexa, Kansas and friends of more than 50 years, Larry and Martha Orth of St. Joseph, Missouri.

A visitation for Linda will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
