So sorry to hear this news late. I have many fond memories of Louise as a kid growing up in Shawnee. The last time I visited with her she was still living in Shawnee on Midland Drive. As always she was the epitome of a lady in every sense of the word. Its no wonder she raised such a great family. My condolences to all of them, especially Gary, Richard and Monica. Thanks for the great memories. God bless you all.

Jim, Simone and I were honored and delighted that Aunt Louise and Uncle Ken traveled from Leawood to Joplin for Simone's high school graduation party back in May! Both looked great and I was proud of them to be so adventurous as to make the round trip in one day!  Who knew that several months later both would have serious health issues.  I am comforted in knowing that Louise had a good life and she was able to make her own decisions regarding the dignity of her last days on earth.  When I was very young, and would get mad at mom and dad for whatever juvenile reason, I would exclaim, "I am going to go live with Aunt Louise because she is my godmother!  I hope we can all get together for Christmas 2012.

How sad we are to hear of Aunt Louise's passing.  I wish Clifford and I could have been present for her funeral services.  She was a lovely, kind and caring lady.  We will miss her terribly.  No matter what the occasion, whether birthdays, graduations, or weddings for

I cherished our Christmas reunions as a child. I can still hear Aunt Louise's wonderful laugh as if it were yesterday. It was a beautiful reminder that love was always near...no matter what trouble Ricky and I were getting into in the next room. In fact, one of my favorite memories was returning to the Barr's house from one of my many adventures with Ricky. I was covered in mud from head to toe. I remember tiptoeing into the kitchen and looking up at Aunt Louise. She seemed so beautiful and regal and I felt so small and insignificant...just an awkward little tomboy covered in mud. I remember asking her, "Do you still like me?" I was so surprised when she smiled back and said, "Oh honey...I love you!" In that moment, I was no longer an awkward little tomboy. I was beautiful and regal, too. Just like my Aunt Louise.

The right words are so hard to find to express our deepest condolences to Ken, Monica, Gary, Richard, our Goddaughter Rachel and all of Aunt Louise's family who loved her so much. Aunt Louise was such a delight and joy in our life and in the lives of all of the cousins and relatives and everyone who had the great gift of knowing her. Her strength, faith and courage through her illness have been a true inspiration. I hope that her readiness to accept this final and natural chapter  of life, and move on to the next chapter, will serve as some comfort for all who will miss her until meet up again in Heaven.
