Lucille Balachowski

Anna Lucille Balachowski, 95, Kansas City North, passed away July 12, 2014 at Liberty Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 15th at St Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr, Kansas City, MO 64116 where a visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday with rosary prayed at 5:30 PM. Burial will follow the Mass in Resurrection Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Liberty Hospital Foundation.

Lucille was born April 4, 1919 in Earlville, IL. After graduating from Aurora, IL Business School, she went to work for the I.R.S. in Washington, DC. Lucille married Eugene Balachowski when he was on leave from World War II. Following the war, they moved to Chicago and started their family. Eugene and Lucille moved to Kansas City in 1961 and became members of St Patrick Catholic Church. On January 5, 2014 they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Lucille was preceded in death by a son, Paul Balachowski; a grandson, John Joseph Azzaro; and two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Eugene Balachowski; her children, Robert (Patricia) Balachowski, Columbia, MD, Mary McMinn, Lee’s Summit, MO, Thomas (Christine) Balachowski, Marietta, GA, Nancy (Alan) Quirion, Pinehurst, NC, Jean (John) Azzaro and Joan (Louis) Patti, both of Kansas City, James (Sara) Balachowski and John (Michelle) Balachowski, both of Kansas City; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
