Lynelle Waggener Sommer

Lynelle was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 28, 1927. She graduated from Paseo High School and went back to school at the age of 45 and earned her LPN. While attending State Fair Community College, she repeatedly made the Dean’s List. She worked at Fairview Nursing Home in Sedalia, John Knox, Truman Medical Center East and the Masonic Home. Lynelle was cared for by the loving staff at Kansas City Hospice the last few weeks of her life. We will be forever grateful for the wonderful care she received.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Clayton Waggener and Macy (Williams) Waggener; brother, Charles Waggener; and infant great-great granddaughter, Emersyn. She is survived by her husband, Robert Sommer; her children, Carolyn Bolon, Sharon Keyes (Larry Spillars), Harry Geagan (Debbie), Clara Mutter (Bobby), Linda McCarty (Gary), Kelly Chasteen (Brian); 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm Monday, April 24 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Private burial of ashes at Mt. Moriah.
