Maggie Louise Randolph was born May 28, 1930 in Wilmot, Arkansas to Climel and Thomas J. Jenkins. She was one of 13 brothers and sisters: Joe L. Jenkins, Bernice Johnson, Thomas Jenkins, Jr., Lorenzo Jenkins, George Wesley Jenkins, Bobbie Jean Durley, Mary Evans, Fredrick Paul Jenkins, Lula Bell Asbourne, Jimmy Jenkins, Sr., Florzell Jenkins McWilliams and Lauretha Bennett.
Maggie was educated in the Wilmot Public School District, and accepted God at an early age. She was united in holy matrimony to Curtis Randolph and from this union they had seven children: William Carter, Earl Woods, Betty Taylor, Willie White, Ruby Randolph, George Randolph and Kenny Randolph. They moved their family to Kansas City, Missouri in 1966, where she became a pillar in the community, volunteering at Seton Center Outreach, and working for Pooches on the Plaza. She joined Metropolitan Community Church on Linwood Boulevard. Honey and Bull’s house is where all the neighborhood children felt at home, being loved and cared for, whether a meal or a blanket, laughter or love.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Randolph, mother and father Climel and Thomas J. Jenkins and eleven brothers and sisters James Jenkins, Bernice Johnson, Thomas Jenkins, Jr., Lorenzo Jenkins, George Wesley Jenkins, Bobbie Jean Durley, Mary Evans, Fredrick Paul Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins, Sr., Florzell Jenkins McWilliams and Lauretha Bennett, and a son Earl Woods.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Lula Bell Asbourne, four sons William, Willie, George and Kenny, two daughters Betty and Ruby, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and four generations of grandchildren.
Something a chaplain said to us explained her life better than I could ever, “Don’t you know Honey is sticky once it gets on you it’s hard to get off!”
