My daughter Mairwen loved peanut butter and honey toast. We went to the pumpkin patch until she was fourteen. Kaya was her favorite American Girl doll. She enjoyed fossil hunting with her dad. She was an avid reader and an excellent swimmer. She liked to draw and be creative. She loved snails. She collected rocks and gemstone hearts. She played Oregon Trail, Webkinz and Catz. She watched Kim Possible, Hannah Montana and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Her favorite Disney movies were Pocahontas, Stitch and The Lion King. Mairwen was an extrovert who enjoyed playing with her friends. She spent many weekends with her Grandma doing crafts, watching Touched by an Angel and helping out at the care home where Grandma worked.
Mairwen loved dying her hair, doing her nails and Starbucks. She cheered for the Chiefs and played Animal Crossing. Christmas was her favorite holiday when she could choose gifts for other people. Michaels was her favorite store. Mairwen loved animals and would have rescued them all if she could. Mairwen was curious, intelligent and softhearted. She dreamed of travelling.
Mairwen craved true connections with others but found it difficult to find people who wanted the same.
Mairwen was also gullible. She wanted to think the best of people at all times. Her lack of caution made her vulnerable to the toxic people she would meet in her late teens that led eventually to the final destructive relationship of her life and then her death.
In the last year or so Mairwen reached out to old "friends" looking for a connection, a lifeline. She was either ignored or rebuffed. Shame on those people.
Mairwen convinced herself that a drug dealer was her loving friend. Of course that's impossible. Someone selling you poison to put in your body can never be a friend.
Whether you sell poison for profit or to feed your own addiction makes no difference. You deserve a vicious life spent in unrelenting misery.
I will miss my sweet girl. She had so much life ahead of her. I will never forgive the people who contributed to her death.
Mama loves Mairwen. Always and Forever,
