

Marcia Muehlbach Griffith passed away December 24, 2016, at the age of 81. She was born on July 8, 1935 to Roy and Elizabeth Muehlbach and was raised in Kansas City. She attended Sunset Hill High School. She received an elementary education degree from the University of Kansas in 1956 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
She met the love of her life at the age of 13 and married William E. Griffith III (Bill) upon graduation from KU. They were happily married for 60 years this December.
Marcia was a wonderful wife, mother, volunteer, and business executive. She was a volunteer for the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, and was a BOTAR. She was quick to volunteer her time whenever needed such as brownie leader and 9-hole golf charity coordinator.
After raising three children, she returned to the workforce and began a 25 year career with the Lee Company. She started as a Clerk and poured her energy into the company, retiring as a Senior Vice-President of Youthwear. After retirement she and Bill enjoyed spending their time in Naples, Florida where Marcia decided to take up golf and fitness at the age of 65.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Betty Muehlbach Honan and Marilyn Muehlbach McGilley. Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, William E. Griffith III; her children, Linda Blackerby and husband Sean of Colchester, Vermont; Laura Widrig and husband Gregory of Leawood; and William E. Griffith IV of Olathe. She is also survived by her adored seven grandsons; Brian Woods, Bradley Woods, Ryan Widrig, Michael Widrig, Daniel Widrig, William Griffith V, and Benjamin Griffith.
The rosary will be prayed at 5 PM with visitation to follow until 7 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 30, 2016, 10 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, Kansas. A private family burial will be held in the afternoon.
