Margaret M. Reichert, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, at Central United Methodist Church, 5144 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Reichert was born October 10, 1916 in Independence, Missouri, daughter of Manuel Thomas and Ollie Mae (Campbell) Short. She had a great love of art and gardening. She was one of the first artists at Hallmark in the 1930’s. Mrs. Reichert had worked for Flower & Garden Magazine. She was a member of Columbia Garden Club and the Art Association. At 80, she traveled around the world by herself via the Concorde, QE2, and Orient Express. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold L. Davis, Jr., second husband Harold Reichert, special companion for 10 years Gene Frank, daughter Barbara Ann White, son-in-law Richard White and son-in-law Mugs McGuire. Mrs. Reichert is survived by her daughter Karen Powell; grandchildren Tracy Beck and husband Mike, Tim Smith and wife Cathy, David White and wife Monika; great-grandchildren Andi Smith, Buddy Smith, Sarah Olsen, Kyle Beck, Greg Beck, Missy Beck, and Penny White; and great-great-grandchild Hendrix Fern.
