Marian H. Tomlinson

Marian Helene Tomlinson, 90 passed away Wednesday, July 8th at Brookdale Overland Park Senior Living Center. Marian was born to Virgil and Myrtle Hinton October 18th, 1924 in Foosland Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946. In 1950, Marian married Omer V. Tomlinson and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Marian spent her life as a dedicated home economics teacher, a devoted homemaker, and a loving mother and wife. Marian was a member of the Church of The Resurrection and she found great joy and comfort in worshiping and serving in the church throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Omer in 2001, her son, David Tomlinson M.D. in 2009, and her beloved sister, Ellen Kauffmann. Marian is survived by her son, Dan Tomlinson, M.D. (Juliann), Medford OR, daughter Beth Jennings (John), Overland Park, KS, daughter-in-law Diane Tomlinson, Fairway, KS, grandchildren, Joseph Tomlinson, Anne Tomlinson, Alexandra Nowak (Rafal), Zach Tomlinson, and Katie Jennings. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 1st, 11:00 am at McGilley Funeral Home 127th and State Line. Visitation will be at 10:00 am. Family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the David Tomlinson Research Fund for Multiple Sclerosis.
