Marie Lucille Gray was born on December 13,1923. She was the only one of Anthony and Carmela Mangiaracina’s twelve children given a middle name, something she was proud of her entire life. She grew up in a very large and close knit Italian family. Stories of her childhood were full of wonderful adventures. She met her love of 68 years, Robert Francis Gray at Kansas City Flying Service, where she was a bookkeeper and he was a pilot. Marie’s love of life did not end when she peacefully passed away on October 14th, at the age of 97. Her love of family times spent together doing even the simplest of things were her greatest pleasure. The joy of playing cards, baking Italian cookies, fishing, traveling, spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren will continue on with all who loved her. That is how we will honor her. She always said Family is most important. Her vivacious, warm and nurturing personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was simply someone who loved people and the details of their lives. Marie is survived by a son David (Maureen), a daughter Linda (Mark) Weber, grandchildren Brandon Gray (Melissa), Ryan Weber (Megan), Kristen Gray, Andrew Weber, great grandchildren Emory, Caroline, Hannah, Brooklyn, Bobby, Grayson, a sister Antoinette Como and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held. She was proud of her Italian heritage and her many years of service to Christ Presbyterian Church. Donations in her name can be sent to the church at 544 Wabash Ave., Kansas City, MO 64124.
