He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and attended Westport High School. Later, he earned his GED and pursued studies in computer technology at Penn Valley Community College. Martez worked diligently as a warehouse worker until his untimely passing.
Martez embraced life fully and cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends. He loved his children, Samaya, Martez Jr, Tionna, and Ayden, with all of his heart. His mother Loretta, was his ROCK...He was her first and only son, and their bond was unbreakable. Martez also shared a very special bond with his late bonus dad, Poncho, whom he loved dearly, looked up to, and deeply respected.
Marty was known for his generous spirit and loyalty, he was the kind of friend who always showed up. If he had it, so did you- especially if you were part of his circle. He loved spending time with his childhood buddies from the block (44th & Wayne) and was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.
Martez had a unique sense of style and he took pride in his appearance. From head to toe, everything matched; from the hat that stayed tilted just right down to the shoes... He had undeniable SWAG! Marty as many of his close friends and family would call him was so laid-back, cool, and rarely let anything get under his skin. To know Marty was truly to love him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
In conversations with his mother and close friends, he expressed a heartfelt desire to be baptized. Honoring his wishes, his mother arranged a private baptism ceremony, surrounded by close family and loved ones. Martez has now entered eternal rest and is peacefully resting with the Lord.
