Mary Rose Chaney

Mary Rose Chaney, 98, Gladstone, MO, passed away May 3, 2016 at her home. The Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 10th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM.

Mary Rose was born in Nodaway County, MO. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion taking communion to the hospitalized and home bound. She retired after more than 30 years of employment with the Social Security Administration. Mary Rose was a member of the Red Hats Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Beryl Chaney in 1998; her daughter, Sharon Brown in 1998 and a son, Gary Steele in 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy DeMoss; step-son, Doug Chaney and wife, Val; her sister, Margaret New and husband, Harold; and grandchildren, Chris Brown and wife, Mitzi, Adam Brown and wife, Marie, Dennis Shaw, Carrie Shaw and Ed West, Heather Wolesky and husband, Matt; and great grandchildren, Casey, Alex, Grace, Olivia, Katlyn, Hannah, Dalton, Ava and Brady.
