

Mary Jane Walsh Coffman, 85, Columbia, MO, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011 from Alzheimer's disease. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Service at 8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 11, at McGilley Midtown Chapel. Private burial on Saturday, November 12th. Mary Jane was born July 25, 1926 in Kansas City. She was a devoted wife and mother. She volunteered at her children's elementary school and was a Brownie Scout leader. She had a life-long love of animals that she passed on to her children and granddaughter. She was musically talented, excelling in piano, voice, and ballet, and had a great appreciation of opera. Her granddaughter was the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Coffman; her brother, Thomas J. Walsh; her sister, Elizabeth Walsh; and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane E. Coffman of Columbia, MO and Melinda A. Coffman and her partner Douglas Marty of Shawnee, KS, and their sons David and Tyler; beloved granddaughter, Sarah Jane Brecht and her husband Dan Brecht of St. Charles, MO; her sister, Virginia Eulich and her husband John Eulich and their children Gloria, Debbie, Kay, and Linda. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Ellen Walsh and her three children, Carolyn, David, and Kathy, and sister-in-law, Esther Coffman and her children Richard and Suzanne.
