

Mary Jane “Jennie” Cangelosi - Passler, 81, passed away on May 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jennie was born on January 7, 1933 in Kansas City, Mo., to Salvatore “Sam” and Ann (Monteleone) Cangelosi. She was a resident of the Columbus Park Neighborhood where she met many friends. Jennie was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She worked as a chemical operator for Bayer Chemical Company. She retired from Bayer , then served as a volunteer for eight years at St. Luke’s Hospital where she was a Eucharistic minister.
Jennie’s devotion to St. Joseph , starting thirty years ago with a traditional St. Joseph table in her home and later at Redemptorist church. Jennie spent many hours baking Italian cookies for weddings and family functions.
Jennie was a member of, Columbus Park Guys and Dolls Wii Club. Other activities that gave her pleasure in life were, bowling, dancing, bocce, paranormal TV shows and Impractical Jokers.
Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, sister Annie Cangelosi, brother baby Vincent, and her daughter Marie Elena Passler, three brothers, Andrew Hank Cangelose, Carl Cangelosi and Vincent “Bun” Cangelosi, two sister’s Connie “Jaytha” McHardie and Rose “Lucy” McHardie.
She is survived by her daughters, Concetta Rene Cangelosi, Lisa Ann Rodriguez, Ann Marie Hernandez (Mark) and special niece Chris (Chee Chee) Batton , six grandchildren; Gabriel Gutierrez, Alesia Fernandez, Andres Gutierrez, Mark Anthony Hernandez II, Andrea Hernandez and Alexandria Rodriguez, two sister-in-laws Linda Cangelosi and Rosaria (Lena) Cangelosi, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Columbus Park and St. Luke’s Hospital for all the care they provided for their mother.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 911 E. Missouri Ave. Kansas City, Missouri. Internment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 9,2014 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel 20 W. Linwood Blvd Kansas City, Missouri. where the rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m.
