Mrs. Mary J Kee

She was born in 1930 to William Burton and Rocele A. Otis. She worked hard to get Phyllis who had cerebral palsy into regular school. Mary loved to square dance and attended many national square dance conventions. She loved to cook and prepared recipe books with her favorite recipes for her family. As her sight diminished, she enjoyed listening to audio books. Mary was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. She enjoyed working on gifts for the Christmas Store at Metro Lutheran Ministries.

Mary married Wesley R. Kee in 1952 at First Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO.

Preceding Mary in death by her parents: William and Rocele Otis, sister Alberta Morgan, husband Wesley, and daughter Phyllis, Mary is survived by her daughters Chris (Cecil), and Carla. Her grandchildren: Jeremy, Michael, and Sarah; great grandchildren: Matthew, Aiden, and Wesley.

A visitation will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church (ELCA), located at 1200 SW Blue Pkwy, Lee's Summit, MO, 64063, on September 20, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

The funeral service will follow at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A graveside service will take place at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO, 64086, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the same day.
