Mary, the daughter of Raymond U. and Shirley D. (Jackson) McDaniel, was born on October 14, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mary was a wonderful storyteller who deeply loved Christ and her church (Holmeswood Baptist Church). She taught (and retired) in the Raytown School District as a first-grade teacher, and while there, she touched the lives of many children and left a mark on everyone she met. She was involved in the church choir as well as working with young children in the Sunshine Choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed cross-stitching pictures and making quilts for friends and the elderly.
Her parents and her sister preceded her in death. She was survived by her niece, Lesa (Brian) West, her nephew Steven (Renee) Gieringer, and her nephew Ken Gieringer, her brother-in-law, Leo F. Gieringer and 3 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Holmeswood Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
A visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
