Mary J. Mitchell, 83, a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area passed away March 10, 2015. Visitation 10-11 a.m., with memorial services immediately following on Monday, March 16, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home at 10507 Holmes in Kansas City. Mary was born July 31, 1931 in Lee’s Summit, MO, to Tom and Juanita Copeland. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick, her sister JoAnne Martin and grandson, Travis Miller. She is survived by daughter, Gaila and husband, Craig Miller, Lee's Summit, MO; brother, Jerry Copeland and wife Janet, Rich Hill, MO; and granddaughter, Shannon and fiancé Tim Krupinski, St. Louis, MO. Our family would like to thank all of the caregivers at John Knox Village in the Memory Care Unit for their care and love of Mary.
