Maya was born on September 15, 1952, in Kalinin, Soviet Union (now Tver, Russia), to Yakov and Galina and spent her early years in Odessa, Ukraine. She pursued her education at Polytechnical University, where she earned a Master's degree in Computer Science.
In 1992, Maya moved to America with her husband, Victor and their daughter, Svetlana. She had a career in the United States as a software engineer. Despite her professional achievements, Maya's true passions lay in her home, where she enjoyed gardening, hosting, cooking, and baking.
Maya was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her brother.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Victor; her beloved daughter, Svetlana; her cherished granddaughter, Emma; and her beloved brother, Victor.
Services for Maya will be held on Friday, January 2, at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Kansas City, MO, 64131. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM, with the funeral service following at 2:00PM. Maya's final resting place will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, with the committal service taking place at 3:00PM.
Maya was known for her generous spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
