Mc Arthur was born on April 14, 1942 to the union of Mose and Velma (Hill) Perry in Houlka, Mississippi. He was the second oldest of five boys; Curtis, Charles, Matthew, and Mose (Steve) Perry.
Later on in life, Mac met and married Jenette Cupil (Chicago, Illinois). To this union, Keenan (their son) was born and Pamela Cupil was also added to the family (adopted daughter).
This marriage was later dissolved. Afterwards, Mac moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he then met Claire Elizabeth Wright, mother of two daughters, Pamela Hicks and Tammy Green. He was a meat cutter for years and retired from Thriftway Grocery. Mac and Claire were married form 43 years. In 2001, Mac accepted Christ and became a Deacon in 2003. He was also a Board Member of the Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop W.B. Henderson. Shortly after the Bishop’s passing, in 2010, Mac transferred to the Calvary Chapel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Harold Molden, Sr. He served there faithfully until his health started to fail. He continued to attend church whenever he could. When he was asked how he was doing, he would always say “it’s all in God’s hands”. Mac enjoyed eating out with his groupies after church on Sundays. He had a great sense of humor and talked more than anyone on this side of Heaven, especially at Sunday School.
Mac’s favorite pastimes were bowling, fishing, cooking and cracking jokes with his church brothers. Back in the day, before his salvation, he enjoyed being with the group called “The Gents”. Mac loved reading the Bible as Deacon Douglas was his teacher. His favorite scripture was Psalm 91:1.
Mac loved his pastor and church dearly. He wore his Deacon badge proudly. He was a caring husband and father. He leaves in the loving care of God, his wife Claire, his son Keenan and three daughters, Pamela Hicks (Steven), Tammy Green (Will) and Pamela Dunger (Troy), three aunts, Minnie, Jewell and Mary, his uncle Roma Smith and sixteen grandchildren: Gianni, Steven, Shawn, Kenneth, Courtney, Mena, Kameron, Daniel, Keenan, DeAndre, Toree, Kenyetta, Chanai, Danta, Demitrus and Dominick. He also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mac will be greatly missed by his family, his church and all who knew him.
