Michael Lynn Carter, born on July 17th, 1944 in Michigan to Bill and Bonnie Carter, passed away Sunday, November 23rd in Kansas City, Mo. Mike grew up in Independence and lived in Peculiar for most of his life. He was a teacher, project manager, volunteer, coach, leader, friend, John Deere enthusiast, dedicated Chiefs fan, and child of God. He is survived by his wife Virginia, sons Todd and Ted, sisters Karen and Kathy, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family that loved him very much. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3rd at 1:30 pm at Wood's Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit with the memorial service at 2:30. Donations can be made to Children's Mercy Hospital in his name. Flowers can be sent to Woods Chapel UMC.
