Michael was born May 15, 1947. Michael Joseph Lynch was born on May 15, 1947, to Michael James Lynch and Rosemary Frances (Egan) Lynch. Michael was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, graduating from De LaSalle High School, as part of the class of 1966. It was this same year that Michael joined the United States Army.
Family meant everything to Michael, and he was a loving father to four children: Rosemary Waters (Patrick), Shannon Lynch, Sean Lynch, and Kelly Cummings (Ryan). Michael’s greatest joy was being a grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Jordan Bloom, Levi Lynch, Tinara Lynch, Cooper Waters, Emily Cummings, Presley Lynch, and Ashlynn Cummings. Michael also had one great grandchild: Scarlett Lynch.
Michael was also the big brother to Thomas Lynch and Timothy Lynch.
In addition to the joy his family brought him, Michael was a self-proclaimed foodie and wine enthusiast. He had perfected a wonderful, buttery risotto recipe and his apple turnovers were flaky, sweet, and simply amazing.
Michael worked for several years in the field of beverage sales and took numerous trips to visit his good friends in Napa, California. Michael enjoyed being a member of the Kansas City Ski Club and took many trips to Colorado. Michael was also known for his love of jazz and his wicked sense of humor – he was always the entertainer.
It was a profoundly sad day when Michael left us suddenly on March 25, 2022. Michael is preceded in death by his father, mother, and stepmother Mary Jane Lynch. His family finds great peace in knowing Michael is no longer battling the demon that is cancer and he is finally getting to enjoy his much-desired glass of chilled chardonnay as he listens to his beloved jazz.
