Mitchell D. Jones

Mitchell D. Jones, 67, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 31st, 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Church of the Nazarene, 8500 East 80th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64138. Burial, Ozark Memorial Cemetery, Joplin, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene.

Mitchell was born September 29, 1947, in Miami, Oklahoma. He attended Joplin High School, Franklin Tech Vocational School and Bethany Nazarene College. His first job was with Fox and Jacob’s Home construction in Dallas, TX, he also worked for Tam Company Roofing, BF Goodrich, Borgworner, Nazarene Publishing House and HyVee. Mitchell was a member of St. Paul’s Church of the Nazarene and Joplin First Church of the Nazarene. His special achievements include, Army ROTC, built churches, chapels, custom crosses and Costa Rica Missions trips.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and a son, Jason. He is survived by his wife, Carol Jones of Kansas City, MO; daughters, Mykyla Jones of Kansas City, MO, Jana Adkison and Karl Adkison of Warrensburg, MO; grandchildren, Jayden Adkison and Vivienne Adkison of Warrensburg, MO; sister, Bonnie McLaughlin of Marceline, MO; brother, Bruce Timothy Jones of Miami, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
