Mollye Faye Winkley was born February 7, 1940, to Eddie and Ida Mae Bennett in Beckville, Texas. She grew up in Beckville and had a passion for teaching from an early age. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching from Grambling College in Grambling, Louisiana, and her Master of Arts degree in teaching from Webster College in Kansas City, Missouri. After college she taught school in the Kansas City Kansas and Kansas City Missouri School District. She retired from the Kansas City Missouri Public School District in 1995. She taught Sunday School for several years at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church and joined Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 2005. She also taught Vacation Bible School at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in the summer of 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Winkley, parents (Eddie Lee and Ida Mae Bennett), two sisters (Annie Lois Lemay and Dorothy Jinks) and one stepdaughter (Karla Byrd).
She leaves to mourn her death one son Davin Winkley (Kimberly), two step daughters Terrie Winkley-Collins and LaTonya Winkley, three step sons Eddie Anthony Winkley (Mia), Maurice Terrell Winkley (Alisha) and Michael Winkley. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
