Born on March 15, 1946, in Boswarlos, Newfoundland, Canada, to Chesley and Adeline Young. After the unexpected passing of her father, she assisted her mother in caring for her eight siblings, an experience that instilled in her a strong work ethic and a nurturing spirit.
Neita met a handsome airman who swept her away from Newfoundland. They married when she was just 18 and settled in Kansas City, Missouri, raising two children together. Neita proudly achieved her U.S. citizenship on March 30, 1972.
Her career was centered around homecare, where she applied her skills as a homemaker, ensuring that everything was spotless, clean, and beautiful. Upon retirement, Neita embraced her role as a loving and doting grandmother.
On July 6, 1984, Neita married her second husband, Robert Jones, and together they enjoyed 38 wonderful years of marriage. Neita and Robert were active members of the Moose Lodge and loved getting fancied up for dancing every Friday night.
Neita took great pride in her flower garden, which was renowned in the neighborhood for its beauty. Her passion for gardening was well-documented, with perhaps more pictures of her garden than of herself.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Joseph Jones; and her step-son, Robert Joseph Jones Jr.
Neita is survived by her children, Debra Lynn Jones, Lance D. Jones, Teresa Ann Deforest, and Robert Chesley Manley; as well as her eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
