Norma Lee Nation

Norma was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved Jesus and she spread that love wherever she went. She made everyone she met feel so loved with her hugs and words we will forever hear “I love you, Jesus loves you”. Jesus called her home on Tuesday, September 12, 2024 at 9:12pm. She was loved on that day by family and friends.

Norma was a hard worker her entire life. Some might say she never slept. Even as a child she quit school at the age of 14 to help pay the family bills. She gave birth to her first child at the age of 16 and her second at the age of 18. At 20, she met and married her love Charles Nation in 1957 and gave birth to her third and last child. They resided in Kansas City, MO for over 50 years.

Norma was a devout Christian and anyone who knew her, knew this to be true. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years at Blue Ridge Baptist Temple. If you were lucky enough to be in her Sunday school class, you would have gained an instant grandma and left each Sunday feeling more loved. She took so much pride in working for Jesus.

Norma loved her grandkids more than life. She spent countless hours at ballfields, dance recitals, music programs and so much more. She was always in the front row and the first one there.

Norma is preceded in death by her father - Ralph Beebe, mother - Doris Lawrence, brother - Bobby Beebe, husband - Charles Nation and son - William Ratty.

Norma is survived in life by her daughter Caroline Overton (husband Randy), her son Chuck Nation (wife Nancie) and daughter in law Deborah Ratty. Grandchildren Mark Woods, Jason Overton (wife Jamie) , Brandi Lehman (husband Andy), Sonja Mauldin (husband Marty) and Trey Nation (wife Taylor), Gabbie Gordon (husband Chad) and Ben Velasco. 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 17th. Will be held at Newcomers Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64133

Funeral & Visitation - 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Graveside starts at 2:00 PM.
