Othella Juanita “Peggy” Mascal, 88, Kansas City North, passed away September 2, 2014 at Garden Valley Manor. Visitation is scheduled from 9-10:30 AM Friday, September 5th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 AM Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church; burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Charles Borromeo Church.
Peggy was born October 18, 1925 to Ezra Floyd and Maggie Mae (Lane) Marshall in Paragould, AR. She was a 1943 graduate of Bakersville High School and had lived in Kansas City since that time. In 1944 she married Joseph P. Mascal. Peggy previously worked for the Phillips 66 Petroleum Co and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph P. Mascal in 1982; a daughter, Mary Margaret Rector in 2012; granddaughter, Mary Anne Yantis in 1993; and 6 siblings.
Survivors include a son, Joe Mascal and wife, Marybeth; daughter, Kathleen Yantis and husband, Daniel; sister, Rose Helm and husband, Jack; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
